Beta 2-microglobulin amyloidosis in renal failure: understanding this recently recognized condition.

Abstract

Beta 2-microglobulin amyloidosis can cause significant suffering in patients with chronic renal failure. Although renal transplantation is currently the only treatment, medical and surgical therapies may decrease pain and disability.
