Voice restoration after laryngectomy.

L Coltart1.

Abstract

Speech therapists have traditionally played a major part in voice restoration after laryngectomy. Nurses have a potentially complementary role to play, which is explored in this article. The three main methods of voice restoration are outlined and the nurse's role in the management of laryngectomy patients is discussed.
