Abstract
Standard colonic wounds were closed in 44 rats by either polyglycolic acid or catgut sutures. Seven days later portions of the colonic wounds were measured for tensile strength and examined histologically. There was no difference in the mortality, strength of the anastomosis or the amount of inflammation induced by either of the suture materials used.Entities:
